BIO
Marco Salathe brings over a decade of experience to his role as a Research Scientist in LBNL's Applied Nuclear Physics (ANP) Program. Frequently serving as a primary investigator and technical lead, he leverages new technologies and industry best practices to solve critical challenges in nuclear security, safeguards, and non-proliferation. His expertise encompasses sensor data fusion, computer vision, machine learning, and diverse radiation detector technologies. Previously, Dr. Salathe was a Postdoctoral Researcher at LBNL’s Nuclear Structure Group, where he focused on advancing high-purity germanium detectors. He received his PhD in 2015 from Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg researching novel neutrino detector technologies at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics.
