BIO
Dimitrius Khaladj is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist for the Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA) at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL). He received his BS in Applied Physics and Astronomy and History at Binghamton University, where he began doing research in DNA manipulation using fabricated nano-fluidic. With his introduction to photo-lithography, Dimitrius obtained his first MS in Nanoengineering where he worked on the fabrication of artificial tissue membranes using different polymeric blends of plasticizer and photo-resists. He then received his second MS and PhD in Physics at the University of California, Merced with advisor Linda S. Hirst where is worked with self-assembled active nematic microtubules in fabricated micro-fluidic devices. Dimitrius is currently working on self-assembled colloidal structures for lithium extraction with Michael Whittaker.
