BIO
Dylan O’Ryan is an Environmental Data Research Associate in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA). Dylan has a background and interest in hydrology, informatics, and data management. He is interested in applying his field-based experience to streamline data and metadata management for environmental research projects.
Dylan works on the ESS-DIVE (Environmental System Science Data Infrastructure for a Virtual Ecosystem) and Watershed Function SFA projects. As a member of ESS-DIVE’s Data Management Support and Services Team, Dylan leads the dataset publication review process and the adoption and development of ESS-DIVE reporting formats. As a member of the Watershed Function SFA's Data Management and Integration (DMI) team, he focuses on data and metadata management, standardization of project data using ESS-DIVE’s reporting formats, and field-data integration.
In addition to his work as an Environmental Data Research Associate, he is an M.S. graduate student in CSU East Bay's Environmental Geosciences program. His graduate research focuses on understanding GW-SW interactions within Burney Creek (Shasta County, CA) with environmental tracers (e.g., 222Rn) and physical hydrology.
